where has july gone?

wow! this month has just been flying by and there has not been enough creating! this is my busy time at work and not unlike the projects i was into last year...i'm beginning to let them all slip. ugh. i'm still up to date on my photo-a-day though. yipee! i'm just really busy at work, busy at home, went on vacation, and will be my cousin's matron of honor in a couple of months so just been busy with all that goes along with that too. still lots of creative "planning" going on in my head but just not enough actual creating. hoping to get a grip really soon. i'm still here...

good stuff coming up though: the second offering of CK KOTM stamp set, Ali's book, September Dig Deeper kit and some classes i just heard about are all in my future! :)

and a picture from the beach...how cute is this rock? as i stepped over it, i had to go back and get my camera to take a picture of it. and now i'm wondering why i didn't just bring it home with me?

the 4th

there was a little sickness in the house so we didn't do much to celebrate (= no fireworks, no photos) but being lazy was oh so nice. in looking through iPhoto, i found this shot that i grabbed last summer at a fair in CT.

an inspired life

i happened upon something really amazing today. you can read about it here. it is dedication and passion defined. a photo-a-day for 18 years...including the day this man died. wow. i now have increased passion for my photo-a-day project and this story truly gives it more meaning. i vow to care less about the "right" shot and will just capture it knowing i was there in that moment. i knew i loved the idea of this project; i love it even more now. i'm six months in to this year taking a photo-a-day and going strong. if anyone reads this, pass it on to everyone you know - it's truly inspiring.

digital layouts

hello...i've managed to do a few digital layouts over the last week or so and have realized in looking at them that i clearly have a thing for blue and beige....i'll have to remain aware of that the next time i'm making a page. gotta love digital though; i find i am so much quicker with it and can commit to being "done" easier than i can with paper. maybe it has something to do with being able to "reuse" elements....you can't really hoard digital elements like you can with the physical supplies and let's admit it...don't we all have a problem with that? either way, i am really happy that i got a few more layouts done. i am probably close to having created as many layouts as last year (but that's not saying a whole lot) and it's only mid-year. feeling good that i'm getting back into the swing of things. oh, and i've never really been good at the whole 'title' thing.....

without further ado:

all digital elements - blue paper, Jessica Sprague Echoes of Asia kit; frame, designerdigitals.com Katie Pertiet; stains (how sweet are these?!), graphics-illustrations.com; font, sans serif; handwriting, my own

all digital elements - patterned paper, designerdigitals.com Katie Pertiet; journal strip, designerdigitals.com Ali Edwards; font, hartig; blue gems, michelle coleman

all digital elements - patterned paper & everyday stamp, Ali Edwards for CK KOTM; tape expressions, designerdigitals.com Katie Pertiet; font, hartig

hey can someone tell me what i'm missing - how do you get your photos to be smaller when someone clicks on them? i resized these but it doesn't seem to work.......any tricks for me since i am a new blogger? thanks!

looking back

unpubbed is asking for your favorite unpublished layouts. i suppose i have many favorites (and they're all unpublished, btw!), but this one i do love. it's my first all-digital layout from some time ago. still remember that day:

the digital elements are all katie pertiet, if I recall and the paper is from a free download by jessica sprague.

i will even share the journaling:
Amazing; that’s you. I love to just sit and watch you explore things in your world. Like on this particular day - something so simple as you playing with the tags on this ball caught my attention. I love the way the natural light coming through the window
silhouetted you as you played so happily on the floor. Curiosity. Wonder. Innocence. It’s just so exciting to see things through your eyes.
I love you so.
