took lots of fun shots of my daughter yesterday - making sure i capture all those little bits of her before she gets too big.....ah, baby toe love (and loving the antique edit option in iPhoto):

on a roll

took a little trip to michael's crafts this a.m. and picked up a couple of goodies, thanks to a mother's day gc from my mil - one of which was a 5x7 paper stack. the sasha paper collection by prima marketing...? never seen it before but it has some really vibrant & pretty patterns, i thought i'd give it a whirl at a whopping $3 and change. i'm sure those papers will come in handy. and also some really fun amy butler fabric tags (basically strips of fabric)...AND, when i got home there was a package on the doorstep from scrapbook.com. MORE goodies.......(no more, i swear!)

on the way home, i was thinking about a particular photograph and came home and knocked out another layout. thank you digital! i find i can really be productive with my digital goodies. it also forces me to do my journaling (if i want to use a good font) - something i'm really trying to get better about. anyway, i have to say i'm pretty happy that i've been doing something creative every day, which will grow increasingly harder once i go back to work. last year, i only did about 24 layouts i think (not counting minis) and i'm already at 10 layouts this year with several other projects going on as well. i'm up on my photo-a-day project and have also been doing a little journaling carousel...a la melodee langworty.

jacked

so, i just found this blog the other day and it just so happens to be here as well this week. so, i thought i'd participate in the jack (first time for me). i really liked kate's layout - especially the repetition of the photos and contrast of color v. b/w. here's what i came up with and really just liked keeping it simple. i think i'll just finish it off by inking the edges. cool.

my son has been obsessed with ladybugs lately that come into the house and i finally caught him examining one up close! i converted the photo to b&w and created a duplicate layer in PSE to show color for the ladybug only. i like how it turned out.

well i gotta say, mother's day was a pretty sweet one around here. not only did i get to spend what was a beautiful day out strolling around with my babies and hubby, i got this:

second try

I tried to do the whole blogging thing last year but somehow managed to talk myself out of it. Well, here I am again. I'm going to try to keep up with it this time and not feel so awkward putting my stuff (whatever that may be) "out there." And, after bookmarking way too many blogs that I like to read, I'm just going to try to open myself up to it all. There's just too many cool people that I want to connect with. Wish me luck.
